GOOD MORNING PIZZA TOURISTS.

“Les Printemps Des Champagne” is a week-long event in spring where wine professionals gather together to taste wines from the diverse terroir of the Champagne region in Northeastern France. I was in Paris earlier this month and decided to hop on a train to join my restaurateur friend Ariel Arce along with her fabulous sommelier/beverage team. While I do have a monthly wine club membership, I still feel like I’ve barely touched the surface of viniculture and the complexities of the wine world. It was fun to follow Ariel’s lead and be a fly on the wall for a couple of days in this world. To top it all off we were invited to a pizza party at Domaine La Rogerie, a beautiful winery owned by the power couple Justine and Francoise Petit-Boxler.

The nice thing about Europe is that the train system is both easy and affordable. In just a 49 minute ride from the Gare de L’est train station, you can feel like you're in a completely different place…because you are! So here are my notes from champagne and other musings from the life of luxury where I was most recently a pizza tourist.
